Fits well with the theme. I think the shot might be a little stronger if you could make the cross a little more distinct - maybe a little darker/contrast?

I like this image. It is a little busy, but the cross captures my attention inbetween all the leaves. Well done

Nice angle of view. Fits the theme perfectly. I think the tones need a little more seperation(ie local contrast adjustment). Also I would burn the bright spot of sky just a little.

Fred, I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as bad advice, just advice you dont necessarily listen to!! ;-) The reason I like to get involved in these challenges is that people with a better eye than mine will cast a gaze over my pictures and hopefully comment on how to improve them. The spirit of the challenges is fantastic and has certainly helped me to develop (no pun intended) my skills as a photographer. I appreciate your, and anybody elses, comments.

Cheers, Matt.

Well Matt, you cannot get much lower than grass level without digging, and that would look pretty suspicious in a cemetary so I definitely would advise against that...I guess I just gave a piece of bad advise when I wanted you to try a lower camera view :-)

Hi Fred, thanks for the comments. For me it definitely works better in BW than colour, too much green! I deliberatlely tried to blend all the elements as I didnt want the headstone to stand out but become almost part of the background "forgotten". I took the shot on my knees with the camera just above grass level to try and get the upward angle.

Cheers, Matt.

Good idea that fits the theme very well. I find the image a bit "busy" though, with the grey nuances almost melting into each other, and I wonder how it would look in color. Regarding composition i think the stone and cross are a bit too much in the middle. I would have tried to shoot it a bit from the side and upwards from a lower position, with the camera almost at ground level. Well, just some thoughts.
