Very nice shot and enhanced by the framing. Good eye.

I won't comment on this one. Others did that, and it's good for I cannot find enough words for praise your work here.

great natural abstract Fred - the slight shadow really helps to add interest, after the initial whaam of the strong graphic pull. then you have fun deciphering it. thanks

Fred, this is so simple yet beautiful. Good job!

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate your comments. I think it's interesting how shadows on bright days, when the contrasts between the lit and shaded part of an object get really accentuated, can fool the eye when they fall in certain ways, and it's those optical effects that I have tried to capture with my entries in this competition.

So asymetrical (I think thats the correct word) that the steps just jump out. Well done!

Hi Fred,

your light and shadow entries are all spectacular. And this one is no exception. You are going to make my voting very complicated ;-)

There is a good balance between the light and the dark part. I like the abstract approach. Not having read the title at first, I did have to look careful though to recognise the steps. And that's good. Very nice entry.
