14-JAN-2007

2007-01-14.jpg

The temperature dropped to around -5 during the night. It has been lightly snowing all morning making visibility poor but creating a white tapestry to photograph. This image is just outside my condo and is a shot of the grass along the edge of the pond. Minimalistic.

Continuous days of these temperatures have a major impact on wildlife. We have had two geese die on the pond, freezing to the ice. Yet, this provides nourishment for the foxes who feed on the carcasses, the cycle of life.

I have a pot of cream of chicken noodle soup cooking and plan to stay inside today. Hope everyone stays warm.

Here is a B&W version:

Very Zen like. (Hate to use that cliche but when it applies, I have to use it.) Wonderful but simple composition. Beautiful work even if the day was bitterly cold.
