Simplicity. My eye goes to simple patterns. I like what I see in them. I do not always capture what I feel but the challenge is still there. Here is an image of reeds at the waters edge about 50 feet from my front door. Maybe the simplicity is in removing all that is around the subject taking our attention away. There are signs near the pond, rocks along the waters edge, building on the other side of the pond, a fountain off to the left, geese feeding on the grass, etc. When looking out my front door my eyes can see such a wide area compared to a telephoto lens. Over time we can begin to see what our camera and lens will see.
