1968 to 1970

These are scans of my father's slide photos that were taken between 1968 and 1970. We lived in a Canadian community in southern Rajasthan on the Chambal River about 40 miles from Kota near the Rajathan Atomic Power Project (R.A.P.P.). The families were all Canadian or British and all the men, except my father, were engineers building an atomic power plant that had been donated to India by Canada. My father was the teacher for all of the Canadian children at Townsite.

Hi There Was intrigued by the name "Char Sau Bis", don't recall that shop(i lived in r'bhata 66-71), then realised the locals must have named it thus because in the Indian penal code IPC 420 (Char Sau Bis = 420)refers to cheating!, Cheers! Raghu Char

Nice to see Akash Hiranjal writng a few lines. Hiranjal Sir was my music teacher and did train me to the basic playing of Spanish guitar for a few hindi film numbers. I lost my passion for it in the rush to make a living but even today whenever I hear "Kahin Deep Jale kahin dil" or I start humming SA SA RE RE Ga MA . Rawatbhata it's simply unforgettable.

Hi All, Firstly, Thanks to the person who has put these images and refreshed my memories. My childhood was in Rawatbhata. My father worked as a music teacher in Central School. All my childhood (1976 to 1989) was there. I am looking for my good old friends, Can anyone help? I am looking for Seemath Sharma, Manoj, Shamu where are you all. I have lost you.

I am living in Rawatbhata from last 16 years and resided in township for about 10 years... it was really good to see those snaps from the colony where I spended my childhood along with friends... as a child i always used to think "how would have been township (Town site)in 1968-1970 wheh the Canadians lived here" and finally I got almost all my curosities answered here on this site thanks for returning some of my wonderfull moments back to me... you guys are doing a great job ... all the very best...
