As we resume our journey along the John S. Mosby Highway, we head west, or downhill, into the Shenandoah Valley to the small town of Millwood and further to the State Arboretum. This area contains the oldest operable grist mill in the Shenandoah valley, one of the oldest Episcopal Churches west of the Blue Ridge, a collection of more than half of the world's pine species, the largest grove of Ginko trees planted for research outside of their native China, and many other historic sites and structures dating from the late 1700s that reflect the extremely rich history and agricultural heritage of the famous Shenandoah River valley.
