The Galápagos Islands straddle the equator in the Pacific Ocean approximately
600 miles west of their homeland, Ecuador. The animals of Galapagos are
known historically for Darwin's concept of evolution and today for the only
place in the world where the wildlife has not learned the fear of humans.
