This gallery is to help me find former members of DES DEV GROUP TWO. This navy developement group was located on the Navy Base at Newport, R.I. when I was attached to them in 1961-62. Most of the work was classified, but today a lot of the information has been released. (There is almost nothing about this group in the Internet.)

I was aboard USS Brownson DD-868 home ported in Newport RI, Desdevgru 2. We had the AN/SQS-23X (PAIR) installed as well as other nifty things. Went to PAIR school in Great Neck NY (Sperry Rand factory school). I was sonar tech. Was accepted to NESEP and transferred from the Brownson to Naval Academy Preparatory School in Bainbridge MD, upon graduation was attached to University of Washington in Seattle where I gained my BS in Oceanography and Physics.
