On the Nikon D3, they ship this Users Manual ~ 3/4" and 444 pages thick, with a smaller 40 page "Quick Guide" - probably because they know that no one will read the whole manual first!

I agree on the D300 they send the same thing 400 + ages and then a smaller one.

I'm sorry to say that is way past manual stage - that's a complete paperback book!
