13-SEP-2011 Mark A. Krauss

Jeremiah O'Brien

San Francisco, CA

This has the look and feel of a vintage print. The dark bars at the edges are given by the rails I had
to shoot between. Four inch diameter lens, three inch opening...

Nikon D3 ,Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S
1/250s f/8.0 at 70.0mm iso200 full exif

The dark bars really worked here! I don't know if I would have thought of using them but you made it work.

Love this rendition, Mark! Gives exactly the right feel of the time. V

Looks good in the B&W, Mark. Does this mean digital memory cards don't have sprocket holes at the edges like film did? ;-)

Nicely done, it suits the era.

Works for me!

This came out great mark! Love the B&W processing and the vignetting or whatever bars you used to frame the photo worked perfectly. Love the foggy/cloudy sky -- works perfectly with the B&W.

Well done. The B&W really suits this photo, as well as the vignetting from the left and right sides.

Very nicely done. It's sure a great place they have it now for photos ect. I tried taking photos of it when docked in Richmond, but it wasn't so good there. My dad served on a few Liberty ships in the south Pacific, one less fortunate as it was sunk in the Fiji Islands area

Very good shot; I have a few old postcards of liberty and victory ships which were used after WW2 as dutch cargo ships. This picture reflects the mood of old times very well.
Still impressed about the amount of ships build in such a short time; average just over a month to build a complete ship. Very well economical and organised war industry.
Those were the days...

It looks like it could be moored in Panama in the early 1900s.

Great shot Mark. I like how it was shot and the b&w really makes it!
