Yes -- history is more than a study of the events of the past. It is also a feeling, an impression, a taste of another time. And in both of our abstracted reflections of the Temple of Heaven, we try to feed the imagination of our viewers, making them see in the colors reflected in these wet paving stones, the face of history itself.
We have each interpreted the abstracted Temple of Heaven differently as we photographed this wet pavement together. You stress blues and purples, while I chose to stress golds and reds.http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/86310521 The differences are created by our choice of white balance, and by our framing of the reflection.
