-GHOSTLY VIEW-
Amargosa Hotel, Death Valley Junction CA February 2007

My friend Phil pointed out this woman behind the lace in the window at the Amargosa Hotel. I was glad to capture the reflected scene to give a sense of what she was viewing.

I love your interpretation of this face in the window. By using the reflection, you create a sense of longing. She seems to yearn for her freedom. My own image athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/75093044 is more about hiding -- the mannequin in my image is less visible, more abstract, with greater emphasis on the Victorian design of the curtain. Each of these tells a different story, and each in its own shocking way expresses the sense of surprise that await visitors to this strange building in this isolated place.
