Yes, I joined several shooting teams while serving in the Navy. The NAVSECGRUACT Sabana Seca Puerto Rico team had a shooting range and competed in several competitions. I'd love to tell you I remember each of these shipmates, but I'd be stretching it.
Further, I was an NRA member for many years, but discontinued membership when The American Rifleman starting advertising AR-15 sales to the general public.

Yes, we did so well that we were appointed to train the Naval Academy Midship how to shoot 45's. It was the first class of female midshipmen. We lived on the Academy grounds. What a great experience!
