THIS CHURCH IS BEAUTIFUL. my grandmother was born in strebitzo, germany (now trzebicko, poland) on aug 18, 1880 the daughter of christian and ernestine (tschentscher)mahlig. they were of the lutheran faith and probably attended church in freyhan, germany now (ciezkow, poland)because strebitzko only had a roman catholic church. she married adam karl schmidt from wehrda, germany (hesse)who she met while he was stationed with the german army in this area. they emigrated to johnstown, PA in the united states in 1906. i know this was a very mixed area and i am wondering if there are any relatives of the mahligs still in the area? could the mahligs be buried in this towns cementary? any information on strebitzko/trzebicko area would be greatly appreciated. i am researching my family history and have found photos of the area on the internet and it is very beautiful and someday i would like to visit.
