In June, 2006, I joined 10 other photographers, along with a professional guide, Andy Biggs (www.andybiggs.com) for a 10 day photo safari adventure in Tanzania, Africa.
We visited three wildlife areas: Lake Manyara, the NgoroNgoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Thompson Safaris did a top notch job with the logistics. One of the things I really appreciated was that only three photographers were in each Land Rover.
A long lens is a great advantage in Tanzania as the parks are relatively vast, you can't leave the roads and the wildlife can be a long way off.
