Jack. This is the lens I use almost 95% of the time when I'm out shooting. But that's just me. Quality wise I have absolutely no complaints about it, except for the barrel distortion at the wide end. Sharpness is really subjective. Personally, I have no issues with it even wide open at f/2.8. This lens can hold its own against many of the wide Nikon primes. And with Nikon going FF, I'll be even more excited with what new possibilities await.
