The Blusher, Amanita rubescens

Amanita rubescens attained its common name since when bruised its flesh takes on a reddish pink tinge. The rough white scales, miniature mountains clinging onto the brown cap are the fragments of a 'universal veil', which would of protected the developing subterranean fruit body like the shell of an egg.
