A distinctive plant so called because of its dimpled ‘navel’ like succulent leaves. This member of the stonecrop family is widespread, found mainly in cracks on walls and cliff faces. Navelwort produces a spike of bell shaped flowers between May and August. When young, the leaves can be eaten in salads.
