Chabad Rabbi Takes My Picture

Jerusalem, Israel

One very helpful Chabad Rabbi helped me into the traditional tfilin so that
I could make my prayers at the western wall (kotel). He also insisted upon
taking my picture and what you see is the result. I believe this whole
experience adds new meaning to the word spirituality.....

This stuning image ( stunning even by the very fact that it's taken by rabbi ) poses so many questions that I could spend all day trying to solve these puzzles. But I hope you would sprean wealth of clarity if confirm some of my far-going assumptions...
I hope that this torturous belt squeezing your left hand has nothing to do with visit to Kotel ( "kotel"= in Russian big pot for cooking borsch ) ?!
Or it's wire to the life support ?!
Mezmerizing hat looks like compination of yarmulka and "Philadelphia Flyers" fan cap ?!
Is this translation of Torah in English or rather pamflet of Arabian terrorists declaring all-nation strike you're keeping in hand ?!
Why I don't see any traces of opposite gender around ?!
And last, but not the least... I have no idea how they allowed you to approach this place without peisas, even artificial ones, what's going on in holy land these days ?!
