One thing I have noticed when reviewing many macro photos is that we (the viewers) seem to relax our standards when it comes to composition and other criteria we look for in an image. Those other qualities that we look for in landscapes, portraits, etc. are supplanted by the "awe" factor of witnessing the details of small objects magnified by the technical capabilities of modern cameras and lenses.

This image; however, is one that I feel meets those higher standards and in my opinion is a much better composition than most macros I've seen. V
