The Jewish cemetery at Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, had been used until 1880. However, some burials took place until the 1940s. During World War II, it was partly destroyed by Nazi vandalism and bombing. After the war, the Jewish community decided to keep it as a memorial. In recent years some renovation has been done, paths cleared and some of the graves have been restored.
