Classic winter adult American Herring Gull, complete with dark smudge on gonys. The long, fairly thin bill and sloped forehead are characteristic of Herring Gull. Some male Herrings have even more of a sloped forehead, giving the impression they were hit in the head with a skillet! The pale eye is usually obvious from fairly long range (probably 100 yards away here), and if you notice on the underside of the far wing, you can see the white mirrow surrounded on both sides by black on P10.
