I had 800-1000 shorebirds out on this big flat right along the Mississippi, until the Merlin/Peregrine duo made their appearances.
There were 2 young Baird's working the area, luckily this one was much closer to the levee than the bulk of the birds. Even at great distance, those long black primaries sticking out WAY past the otherwise buffy bird let you pick out a Baird's.
