I had about given up on Piping when I finally saw one come out from behind a distant depression. I never was able to get close at all to this very active bird. It fed over about half of the area.
Nice look at the uppertail area, which is diagnostic of this species with the white uppertail coverts. Jeff had some shots that showed this very well also.
