We saw more of these on this trip than Michael Carmody had even seen as well. We had at least 5 of these in the highlands of El Triunfo, where on most trips there is one, if any.
This species has a very restricted range in the highlands of southern Mexico and northern Central America. It forms a superspecies with Bumblebee Hummingbird, which takes its place in mountains north of the Isthmus.
