We stayed 3 nights at Beatty's Guest Ranch http://www.beattysguestranch.com/ , which has the best hummingbirding in Arizona (or the US). We spent most of our time birding the surrounding areas, but spent one fantastic, rainy afternoon in hummingbird heaven. I got enough images from here to justify it's own gallery. I cannot recommend the Beatty's too highly. They have great birding besides hummers, including regular Spotted Owls just above them in Miller Canyon.
We had 8 species here this day at Beatty's. Our trip list was a total of 13 species:
Broad-billed Hummingbird (several locations)
White-eared Hummingbird (at least 3 at Beatty's, nowhere else)
Berylline Hummingbird (female at Beatty's and Madera Kubo)
Violet-crowned Hummingbird (Portal and Patton's)
Blue-throated Hummingbird (Cave Creek and Beatty's)
Magnificent Hummingbird (George Walker House and Beatty's)
Lucifer Hummingbird (Ash Canyon)
Black-chinned Hummingbird (several locations)
Anna's Hummingbird (several locations)
Costa's Hummingbird (Ash Canyon)
Calliope Hummingbird (George Walker House)
Broad-tailed Hummingbird (several locations)
Rufous Hummingbird (George Walker House and Ash Canyon)
My lens doesn't do really well in low light, so I have to trade some noise from high ISO for shutter speed. Some of the pix are noisy, but not too bad for a low-light rainy afternoon, with "only" 400mm. There are numerous other hummer pix in my main gallery devoted to this trip
