Comet C/2014 E2 (Jacques)

My best image of Comet Jacques so far. The ion tail points towards lower left; note that this tail always points away from the Sun, not opposite the direction of travel.

Modified EOS 600D,Revelation 12" Newtonian telescope
21 x 90-second exposures, ISO 1600, f/4.
Images registered and stacked on the comet (hence the trailed stars) using Deep Sky Stacker software. Initial curves adjusted in Canon Photo Professional; final curves & colour-balance adjusted using Paint Shop Pro; noise reduction via CyberLink PhotoDirector. full exif
