The Ohio Central #1293 steam-engine-0820.jpg

This is a 1948 Steam Locomotive. This was the first run on this track ( Cuyahoga Valley National Park) of a steam engine since 1990. These giants can only travel 200 miles before needed to be serviced
#1293 Ex-Canadian Pacific
This 4-6-2 received a complete restoration in 1996/97 and returned to service in the fall of 1997. It is the biggest steam engine the OC has running. It will be used mainly on mainline trips on the ex-Pennsy Panhandle Line.

A good shot Marcia, with the two train workers hanging out the door and that big black smoke.

One of my favourites is this gallery, Marcia! Reminds me of the old cowboy movies we use to watch, as kids, when the bad guys would come along and try to jump on and get the loot!! ~V~

Classic train shot!
Here is a fascinating account of what it takes to start up an oil-fired steam locomotive:

My favorite of the group because you really caught the engine working (it must be going up some sort of a grade). Great framing, color and clarity. Great work!
