The Brave Fool

Aberdeen, Scotland

My father used to tell me stories of people jumping this bridge in the 60’s,
when the water was fresh and swimming here on nice days was common.
This is the first I have ever seen jumping of the old Brig O Balgownie.
Group of University students taking turn about to make the dangerous jump.

Glad to see he went in feet first and had tucked his arms. That could be a bad fall if not executed correctly. The photo is fun and action-packed. Love it!

There is a fine line between bravery & stupidity, but undoubtably this is an excellent series of shots. V

Having looked again - I see he had a shock of bright red hair when he started, but it's gone quite grey by the time he hits the water :o)

I sense his anxiety growing upon approach.

I'm in the same camp as Phil. Just don't think I would have the bottle to leap

Fabulous pic - but I think I'd prefer the view from the bridge than underneath.
