The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) - Very Large Array, near Socorro New Mexico.
An observatory consisting of 27 independent antennas, which can be moved on rails and configured to act together or independently.
The largest configuration simulates a single dish 22 miles in diameter.
The day we were here, you could barely stand still - super high winds and sand storm.
