Civita di Bagnoregio

Civita di Bagnoregio is the first town we visited after leaving Rome. It was almost extinct until Rick Steves publicized it in his TV show and guide books. A few people now live there, but most people who work there leave the place each evening. There were several places for sale, but it's a long way to get groceries.

There were very few tourists when we were there, and they were Italians.
