Located high above the Pacific ocean atop sandstone cliffs to the southwest of Coos Bay, Oregon, this former grand estate of timber magnate Louis Simpson is now the Shore Acres Oregon State Park, consisting of a series of formal gardens awash with flowers and plants from all over the world. Due to the coastal location with constant cool temperate sea breezes, there are blooms in the park every day of the year.

This was our second visit to Shore Acres; our first was in 2000 right after we were married.
