At the end of April I went back to my native South Africa, to
visit my family, for the first time in over 5 years, and to
celebrate my father's 80th birthday, as well as my mother's 75th
birthday. I will create a seperate gallery for pictures of
family and friends.....this gallery will focus solely on nature and general
scenic photographs. "Typical" South African images. I was very lucky,
my friends Piet and Elsabe Enslin (penslins here on pbase) drove a long
way to take me to a bird and wildlife sanctuary, and my Dad
(yes, at age 80!!) also took me into the Bushveld on a sightseeing trip.
My parents live in the far Northern province, in a small town, and several
of the bird pictures were taken in their garden or the gardens of their
neighbours.
