The day of my father's memorial service. I could not be there, I am here at home in the
USA and his memorial service was held in South Africa. However, at the time (11 AM in SA
and 5 AM here in the USA), I was sitting outside on my deck, watching the sun rise, and
wishing my father well on this final journey, the end of his life here on earth.
It has been a baptism of fire for me. I have wept, mourned, quietly grieved, raged....
nothing changes the final outcome.
I am slowly coming to accept that nothing will ever be the same again, but that life goes on.
