This is as close as you can get to the dam. The main road is now gated because of terrorist concerns and 9/11. A small dirt road leads down to the river. I have a few pictures from that road. The dam is in North Carolina but the road to get to the dam is in Tennessee. You cross into North Caroline about 1 mile before you get to the dam.
