As we enter the spring of 2007, I find myself photographing
through those ancient light catchers otherwise known as "rangefinders".
In this age of digital, auto-focus, auto exposure, burst modes, etc., why would
anybody in their right mind return to a manual-everything film camera?
The reasons are many, some I would share, and some I would not! ;)
So here I am, using cameras akin to what my grandfather might have used:
a Leica MP, Leica M6 TTL, a Leica IIIf RD (1953 w/ 1946 lens), and a Russian made "Zorki" (1955).
Much of what I will share in this gallery will be as what's known as "street photography",
but some days I will venture out beyond that.
The Leica, that mystical saber of yesteryear, has been let loose,
and the neighborhood will never be the same.
