I spent another month in Thailand. I spent a couple of balmy, hot days in Bangkok; headed east to visit Khorat and Surin, where the big annual elephant roundup was held; saw ancient ruins in Ayutthaya and then later in Sukhotai; got my first thai foot massage in Phitsanulok; spent a wonderful week in Chiang Mai, up north, where I went to the Royal Flora Exhibition and hiked in the hills; spent another week down in the south with Jess, first on Ko Tao (where we got rained out) and then at Krabi and Ko Phi Phi, snorkeling in the 30 degree tropical waters and even trying scuba diving.
