Yvoire - The subtle charm of rainy weather

Yvoire is a small village on the French coast of Lake Leman.
It’s set exactly in front of my town, which is on the Swiss coast of the lake.
Practically Yvoire is what I see every morning from my windows, if the weather is clear enough.
It takes about 20 minutes by boat to cross the lake from Nyon (Switzerland) to Yvoire (France).
As it always happens, I rarely go there, exactly because it’s so close and I think I can get there at any time....
I went to Yvoire this time simply to show it to a dear friend who had been visiting me.
The weather was awful, a pouring and gloomy rain, so the village, which is usually invaded by tourists, was practically empty and I discovered with pleased amazement, that I really liked it under a melancholy veil of grey rain, which gave him a special charm out of time....

Back home by boat.... We might stop at a cosy restaurant... A fancy old house like this one cannot look gloomy even in the rain! The bracing rain of May....
The Lord and the Lady of the rainy manor are still there.... We are not alone.... The shelter Who does feel like braving the rain?
The square is the heart of the village.... Spring rain can enhance colours.... Three very dignified characters were there to welcome me.... The charm of the rain was so appealing....
It's time to take the boat to go back home...enough of rain! All wise people chose to stay indoors.... There is a soft merriness in the rain... Ohhhh, we are not alone, after all!
The ancient walls protected from enemies, not from rain.... Once upon a time , by a small castle in a rainy day.... Tulips have not any umbrella... Ooooops, it has just started raining again...
Just a break in the rain... A shelter from rain... Inside the ancient little church it doesn't rain... Like in every village...here is the church!
It's just the sound of the rain and our steps... Grey is the colour and the sky adapts itself No shopping.... The small castle
