Jura Mountains

The Alps and the Jura Mountains cover more than half of Switzerland.
The small town where I live is close to Jura mountains, the Alps are in front of me, on the other side of the lake.
Jura mountains are not as high as the Alps, they are rich of forests and pastures lands.
Actually the name “Jura” is derived from the Celtic root "jor" which was latinised into "juria",
meaning forest.
It takes me only 20 minutes driving from my home to get there

Beautiful gallery givin me a real good idea of what yore mountains are like and what goes on there. Lots of similarities to the Appalachians but lots of differences to! Mike :o)

I am awed by your dedication to me. Your mountains are indeed spectacular and there is much commonality between the Appalachians and the Swiss mountains in your excellent photos. I really like the way you've focused on the small things which usually escape notice. But which I personally find great beauty in. What a wonderful place you live in.
