My impressions of the island around six main topics: urbanscapes and natural textures arranged
alternately in contrast, my first trials in macro (hand-held) with flora and fauna,
then churches and graveyards, boats, and seascapes.
Dedicated to Catherine and Max for their kindness and hospitality, Yasmina who was there
the week before and certainly guided my feet, Titi and Gilou in St Barth.
N.B.: despite what man can read in some internet forums, and despite sand, sweat, moisture
and even a strong wave on the camera bag, the NIKON D70 works perfectly in tropical
conditions provided two precautions are taken: avoid any brutal change from wet and
hot air to air-conditionned (cars!!) and remove battery when camera is not used for hours.
Of course, we have a deep thought for all the people who, at that time, lost
their lives or all they had in the other end of the world. December 2004.
