The Charm of Mud

Photographer's Comments
I drive past this little bay within the San Francisco
bay in Albany twice a day. I am often captivated by
its charms. For several months I have wondered how
I could capture it. Last night on my way home I
decided to give it a try. This is a long way from
what I had planned to get. But it is quite pleasing
to me nevertheless.

The tide was extremely low. The piles are from a
long ago dilapidated pier. The first darkest ridge
is a small peninsula in Albany about a ½ mile away,
The second lighter ridge on the far side of San
Francisco bay are the hills of Tiburon in Marine
county about 8 miles away and the Mountain with
the antennas on it is Mt. Tamalpias about 13 miles.
The shot was taken about 6:15 PM 11/19/02 about
an hour and half after sunset.
