This is where Joan and I stayed on our last trip to Cesky Krumlov. The open second floor window was our room.
This tower was part of the ancient defensive walls of the town. Of course the windows were added in modern times. The original tower had only loops to fire arrows and later guns through.

I have seen photos of this tower taken during the floods of August 2002. The water was at the doorsill. At the time I took this photo the Vlatava river was low within its banks about 120 yards behind me.
