LUANG PRABANG, LAOS...

"It’s a place that seems to have been forgotten by time, yet it is timeless.
Life is paced at a slow and wonderful cadence, a content waltz, or like a stroll through a beautiful garden.
Our trip to Luang Prabang was a delightful vignette.
It is a story of the present as it graciously unfolds from the past, and strewn with bouquets of life--
the open smiles of the ubiquitous monks, the giggly innocence of children,
and the whispered years of old walls untouched by the rash and rowdy 21st century."

These images are more than pictures; in them are breathing stories. You captured life in itself in every moving angle. If it weren't the remarkable depth and vibrancy of your colors or the unequivocally well composed subjects----it's perhaps simply talent. I cannot turn my eyes anywhere else for a while but to these remarkable images.

You've got quite a following, and one feels almost embarrassed to add to the heaps of praise, but credit where it is due: this is a great gallery, with a lot of beautiful photographs. My personal favourites are those where you have gone for a slightly desaturated, high-contrast, almost greenish hue, but the punchy oranges are also catchy, and more in the 'classic' travel photography genre. The portrait compositions are dynamic, and you have a wonderful skill at using shafts of light to focus attention. Anyway, congratulations, I look forward to browsing further.

While the photos are outstanding (what else can we expect from you, if not the best), it's your pp style that has really caught my attention. It's a bit more subdued but it doesn't in anyway detract from the emotional intensity of your images. It highlights it even more without being in your face. Great gallery! GMV, of course :)

I joined pbase after seeing one of your Siem Reap (as I recall) galleries back in 2005. You've provided a lot of inspiration. Nice to see a refreshing change of direction with this gallery - first gallery I can recall of yours that wasn't dominated by either kids or young ladies. Love the first shot.
