Autumnal Shadows

I love it when the autumn light takes on that special quality which, on sunny days, compensates for the darker evenings.
This is Dundalk's Market Square with sculptures by John Behan
depicting scenes from the legend of An Tain Bo Chuilgne.

An Tain Bo Chull... er, Chill... err... mind if I call you Bo?

Yes, I hear you. I'm not sure why but I've always loved this kind of light. There's a softness and warmth to it. Yet oddly it's not my favourite part of the day. The pre-dawn and dawn has that honour because the day still holds promise. By the time this light appears I'm usually thinking of all the things that could have been done but weren't. Actually on 5 days out of 7 I'm locked inside a southbound train and don't get to see it anyway. But I still like it.
