Beach Baubles

I don't normally bother walking along the beach at the end of our road.
It's quite stony and ideal for turning your ankle, especially if you've got a boisterous Labrador on the end of a lead.
Looking for a better angle for a shot this afternoon, I ventured down and came across a collection of Christmas decorations which had been washed ashore.

{Grim-faced FAA Investigation Team leader} "We can now confirm that a sleigh has gone down over the Irish Sea. We believe it to have been powered by 8, possibly 9, Flying Reindeer engines and to have been carrying a crew of only one very overweight pilot. Debris from the downed sleigh can be expected to start washing up on the coast shortly."
The shininess of the baubles makes a good contrast to the relative darkness of their surroundings, which reflects the story of something which was once pristine but is now just flotsam.

Amazing the things that get moved by flood waters. Surreal looking with the light hitting it and the alien surroundings. V.
