Under My Nose

I was hunting around for something to take a pic of at lunchtime
when I literally found these under my nose after knocking them off the chest of drawers.
This bunch of keys have been in the house for as long as I can remember and I have no idea what they would unlock.

Nikon D7000
1/80s f/4.0 at 60.0mm iso640 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Is it wrong for me to be visualising a partially moonlit night with scudding clouds, a wind just strong enough to create an eerie howl as it passes through the electrical wires, a guttering candle, a outside cellar door made of thick wood, its ancient hinges creaking as they're opened for the first time in decades, a blood-curdling scream... followed by you, Fudge and Toffee making a run up the stairs and toward the front door and slamming it behind you?
Really, is that wrong?
Alternatively it could make a good WD-40 commercial...

Oh wow, they are old! I would say one for a door and two for cabinets? Wonderful find and photo today. Love the mysterious shadows. V

One can only imagine what treasures they secured at one time. A very thought provoking image.

Super detail. Love personal things like that even if you can't remember what they're for!

A photo that you could write a story about. What could these old keys open? Nicely done!

The light is exquisite and good DOF. I also like the surface with the writing. V.

LOL at John!
These are a fabulous set of old keys! Reminds me of something from the Tower of London (in miniature). :)

That chest of drawers, could it be a treasure chest? Being so well worn they do make great subjects!
