Nan

Nan still works in the family shop in Park Street which sells mostly souvenirs and religious objects.
I was hesitant about asking to take her photograph but it turns out she's well used to posing for photographers from around the world who drop in to take pictures of the traditional barbers which is to the rear of the shop.

It's a good shot; a lot of character in her face, and clearly eyes which have seen a lot over the years. The mono treatment suits the old style of shop.

This is an excellent portrait, Margaret. You caught a great expression, and the exposure is superb. Beautiful, and fitting, in B&W as well. V.

Well done for plucking-up courage to ask.
The shop itself looks like it would make a fascinating picture but the addition of Nan makes it all the better.

It doesn't hurt to ask (most of the time, anyway)
