Stopping at the Village

I couldn't resist stopping at Ballymascanlon Village to take some photos
as I drove past it on my way to town this afternoon.
It was looking particularly well in the dabbled sunlight with the last of the summer roses and flowers adding a nice splash of colour.
I had hoped to upload some of the photos to my blog but our internet is painfully slow - even uploading this single photo took ages. It's one of the reasons why I've fallen behind with commenting lately.
To see some more images of the village and to find out about its history, visit
my blogpost at http://as-i-roved-out.blogspot.ie/2012/09/the-deserted-village.html

This is lovely, such a shame those lovely cottages are not occupied.

The dabbled sunlight is beautiful and really 'shows off' of the building. Superb work. V

You are right about the light. It's really fabulous. And this is such a beautiful house and scene. Hope your internet speeds up soon. Hate it when it's slow. V.

A wonderful image. Great colours and superb light. And for me it looks so typical irish, like so many places I´ve seen. BV
