We've finally got some warm sunny dry weather after a summer which broke records for being dull, damp and cool.
The farmers are literally 'making hay while the sun shines' and there's a hum of harvesters in the fields.
I was lucky to get this quintessential September image - just minutes after I took it, the farmer arrived to take the bales out of the field.
