Stop Press

Rather late posting today as we were out with our colleague and friend, editor Jim Smyth who has retired after almost 47 years service with the paper.
Took this on Friday as I knew today would be too busy/emotional for photography.
Good luck Jim, hope you have many happy years of not worrying about deadlines.

Nice candid of him at work. It's so sad when a longtime co-worker leaves. Like part of the family moving away... :( I wish him luck.

An animated portrait of a man who appears full of enthusiasm and who will most likely enjoy a very active retirement.

You took a wonderful portrait to remember him by. I'm sure he will enjoy his retirement even if his colleagues miss him. Love this in monotone. V.

An excellent portrait of a true newsman. I'm sure it's hard to leave the business, but I hope he enjoys some peace and quiet for a change! V.

Good candid picture! He should be smiling after 47 years, that's a huge record and I hope the golden handshake matched his effort.
